Oh wow!

I'm not dead, guys! Which is a pretty big deal, because! Because life is like a lover. A tsundere lover.

I, uh. Don't actually have much to say. I've gotten really into Hetalia, which I wasn't into at all, like...last month.

Anyway! Drive-by post. Kchk!

Writer's Block: A literary masterpiece

Which books will you certainly read to your children, nieces, nephews or godchildren?
Don't even have to put any thought into it.

Jordan honey...

Hi. Guise! I made a 1790 on my SAT! I wanted at least an 1800, but this is good too! My girlfriend got a 1970, which is good for her (!) even though she wanted higher. I think everyone wants higher, though.

I also got back my TAKS scores. I got Commended (better than passed) on 3 out of 4 of the tests! English, Science, and Social Studies. Even almost got Commended on Maths, which, um, I have never even come close to before. I didn't miss any questions on the SS, and I got a perfect score on my Batman essay! I'm so glad I passed everything. I knew I would, but knowing for sure rocks my socks. No more TAKS for meeee!

Even typing that, it still hasn't really hit me yet. But, hey, I mean-- this summer's going to be so cool! I just got back from four days at the beach with Kylie (the girlfiend), and that was awesome. I hung out with my best friend here in Austin these past two days! Saturday I get to see them both again!

Get to go see the new X-Men tomorrow, already saw Thor and the new Pirates. GREEN LANTERN WILL BE OUT SOON, FOR  THAT I AM EXCITED. And Super 8 next week or something, right? And HARRY POTTER NEXT MONTH, midnight showing for Sam's birthday, and THEN COMIC CON THE NEXT WEEK, and then my birthday, in August? I'LL BE EIGHTEEN AND I'LL BE AT HOGWARTS.
And while I'm in Orlando for Hogwarts, I'm going to check out Full Sail University, because I am interested in their film prograaaam.
I'm excited for a lot of things.

Jensen dear...

So today, and yesterday, and tomorrow, I took/will take the three almost-biggest tests of my high school career. Which is stupid, because they're actually really easy - just ridiculously important. It's the end-of-year standardized tests (Math Wednesday, Science Thursday, Social Studies Friday). In Texas, they're the TAKS tests. English was a few months ago. (I wrote my essay about Batman.) Anyway, these are the exit-levels, meaning that if a student doesn't pass them in junior year they have to spend all of senior year in TAKS-remedial classes until they finally pass. If they never pass, they never graduate. It's not likely to not pass, because they're testing over things that we've been "taught" since (for most of these kids) 5th grade. If you pass in junior year (like most kids do, like I will), then you never have to take any of these tests again. And when you're a senior you get to sleep in for a week, and it. is. glorious. But I really didn't intend to spend two paragraphs on procedure, damn it. I hate this test. Not because I hate testing as a whole, but because our entire curriculum is geared towards this test. They don't care if we learn. They just care that we pass the test. We haven't really learned anything new in a long time. And then we spend the last three weeks before the dread test reviewing for the dread test, and it's just. It's so stupid. No Child Left Behind. Meaning no intelligent kids get to actually, you know, learn things at school.
I was going to actually write about the pleasant things going on in my life at the moment, but, well. I'm tired and I actually need to sleep for my history test. Damn it all. So you get an extremely half-assed bullet list.
-- I have a girlfriend. Her name is Kylie and she's amazing and smart and pretty and understands most of my obsessions.
-- I have spent about 70 dollars on comic books in the past month and a half.
-- I'm reading real books again. It's kind of hard to balance that and comic book/fic reading, but I'm making it work so far.
-- I watched Jericho.  The whole series, in a few days. It was amazing and they might be making a comic book continuation and that's awesome.
I started watching Eerie, Indiana. I love it love it love it.
-- I'm rewatching Buffy, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Batman Beyond, and a bunch of other shows I don't feel like naming right now.
-- I take my SAT on May 7th, which I'm not looking forward to. But, it's just a test. You do it, then it's done.
books I'm reading:
-- A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. (I'm actually a relatively big science nerd. My brain isn't really geared towards technical stuff, but theoretical physics -and anything having to do with space- have always fascinated me.)
-- American Gods by Neil Gaiman. (I love Neil. He's one of my favorite authors ever, and I plan to read everything he ever writes. I'm also reading his Sandman series right now.  I'm about halfway through Seasons of Mist, iirc.)
-- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. (Been on my to-read list for a long time. I've seen a film of it, in a class, which disturbed me because I really wanted to read the book first because I'm a fussy little thing, but whatever.)
I also just finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower the other day. I liked it, but I don't know how good it was.
So, yeah, goodnight.
Y'know, I would cut this, but I really don't feel like it. Deal with my bitchitude!

howard/raj hug

It was really hard not to title this "Bye Bye Bye."

I’ve got an SAT to study for, and sleep to get, and a job to get, and trips to take, and colleges to visit, and a comic book to co-write, and papers to do, and a car to learn how to drive, and a room to clean, and DVDs to watch, and a few majors to research.

I take my test on May 7th. I have to start applying for a job near the end of April, to get extra money to spend at Comic Con. And the trip for Sam’s birthday. And the trip for my birthday. It’s a…very full year. The point is, I’m going to be pretty busy for, uh, a long time. And as much as I’d like to continue procrastinating, my heart’s just not in it anymore. I have to get my shit together. I need to get my studying done first, then spend any excess time working and anything left over from that writing Iron Will. Fandom is being put on the backburner, and the internet is being taken off the stove. I love you all. Until we meet again.

not cutting because my gifs are pretty.

jasper's jots

Criminals are a superstitious, cowardly lot.

Drive-by post, again. I really need to make time to actually make a coherent, non-delirious post some day.

We've mentioned my tendency to obsess over things, yes? Probably in nearly all of my LJ entires?

Remember when I watched Under the Red Hood and I was geeking out about it and I got really into Batman and started watching Young Justice and buying comic books online and spending all of my money on freaking Batman? Maybe you don't remember all that, because some of it only happened a few weeks ago.

But yeah. I've become obsessed with Batman. The franchise, not just the symbol/man. Right now my laptop background is Robin (Dick Grayson), I'm reading Dark Victory (even though Tim Sale drew it ew Tim Sale), I've gotten way too into Nightwing comics, and, oh, I'm going to Comic Con dressed as the Joker.

Because the Joker has this way of getting into your head and not fucking leaving, ever. I rue the day I bought The Killing Joke. Okay not really because it is beautiful and terrible and ugly and amazing.

And I wrote my exit-level standardized test essay (TAKS) about how I'm totally Batman.

And I read Hush a few weeks ago and it is so amazing and I need people to share this with, jfc. Also, Jim Lee is lovely.

And the Blockbuster next to my apartment is closing and I went there today and bought Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Under the Red Hood. Cheaply, too. Alright.

And in real-life news, I met this boy who was born in  Russia, lived in Singapore and the UK, speaks Russian, English, Spanish, and LATIN, and who I am seriously considering wearing make up for, he is wonderful and I need to get in his pants.

Been working on a new pilot, teen superhero. New original story about a gay painter named Welch, working on that.

Real post to be made later, I'm taking a break from all BTR-based fic, will however be posting Pokemon slash and angst soonish.

And goodnight.
